While traditional dental crowns may take 1 \u2013 2 weeks and several trips to the dental office to be created, a CEREC crown can be planned out, milled, and placed on the tooth all within a single appointment. This also eliminates the need for a patient to wear a temporary crown, which can sometimes cause teeth and gum problems. Better yet, this faster timeline doesn\u2019t sacrifice anything in terms of quality; the crowns still look beautiful and natural thanks to the ceramic materials used to create them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Downsides of CEREC Crowns<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Although they\u2019re certainly enticing, CEREC crowns do come with some minor disadvantages. Since they\u2019re made from ceramic, they might not be quite as durable as a metal or porcelain-fused-to-metal crown.
